Each year, the Ravinia Women’s Board hosts a poster contest for the Ravinia Music Festival in Highland Park, IL. The festival is one of the oldest in the United States and is known for its diverse representation of musical genres including, rock and roll, classical, jazz, and more.

I began the design process by researching the history of the festival. digging into the history, I discovered this wonderful photo of the original entrance before a fire-plagued the festival’s site. I chose to use this photo as the inspiration for my design playing off the romance of what was once there.  The prompt also included the statement that they enjoyed trees and an outdoorsy feel. This poster design won second overall.
